We had a superior room with sea-sight. The terrace was so tiny you could not get on to it with 2 persons. When we checked out, I told the receptionist. She just told me, I should have complained earlier. So they just push people in the worst rooms and the one who complains gets better. I totally feel deceived and conned by such way of working.
The room was not clean, we lost something accidentally under the bed and there was a lot of dust under it.
Also every day, the cleaning lady made mistakes: not enough towels, toilet paper, blankets, etc...
The breakfast was good. But when it got a little crowded, the waiting times at the (bad) coffee machines were long and also at the toasting machine. There is only one and you need to enter toasts at least 2 times to get a good one.
The Spa is OK, but expensive for Madeira and the sauna/Turkish bath is closed a lot. The outdoor pool is not (or minimal) heated.
It is good in terms of location, but do not get swept away by a good score, because it is not all that great as they claim to be.
I do not understand the good reviews they get, unless they post it themselves...
