Our first time on Les Moulettes was incredible. The camp site is located next to the Arzon river that ends in the Loire river. Our location was pitch 22, next to the river in which our kids, ages 9 and 13, enjoyed playing with other kids, building dams, fishing and playing with our one year old dog.
What made Les Moulettes so joyful, well let's see... first of all Leatitia and Xavier are probably the most friendly, helpful, kindest and sweetest camp site owners we've ever met. What ever you need help with, they provide it and in English if necessary.
Next to that I must say that their daughter Mathilde was a joy to meet and talk to. She kind of ran the restaurant on the customer side and she did a superb job. She's not only sweet and friendly but above all a professional, English speaking young lady that deserves to be praised.
Our children enjoyed their daily hours of 'Petanque' with Clement, Leatitia's and Xavier's son. Again, a very friendly young man.
Next to the people working there we must conclude that the people staying there we’re just as great. A nice group of people that have been visiting the campsite for years always had a friendly word, asked you to join in a game of ‘Petanque’. The fact that we are Dutch and our French is very poor they still enjoyed talking and our company. Lovely.
About the camp site itself we can say that it’s location is already beautiful, the pool is great and sometimes a bit crowdy (but still enjoyable) and the restaurant serves good food with the occasional ‘Moule Frites’ and ‘Paella’ nights.
The toilets, showers and washrooms were exceptionally clean and modern. I’ve read that people talked about the sanitary being old but I disagree fully. It’s nice, it’s clean and there’s always warm water when you need it (and trust me, we’ve seen different)
The only thing we missed were the ‘hot’ nights. Us being used to the southern spots in France where you can sit outside until the late hours missed that this year. Obviously this has nothing to do with the campsite, probably just our lack of timing.
We did read about the flies and it’s true. There are a lot of flies but then again, no mosquitos and hardly any wasps. I’ll go for the flies every single time.
In short, we’ve enjoyed our stay, our kids had great friends, lots to do and a great time, even for our adolescent son. (which can be difficult some times)
Cher Leatitia , Xavier , Mathilde et Clément . Merci beaucoup pour le grand temps que nous avions sur votre camping . Nous ne pourrons jamais oublier ces vacances et nous espérons vous revoir à l'avenir.
