Born and bred in Stockton -On-Tees and this place has no appeal to anybody but smackheads and alcoholics . This once great town has been destroyed by poor corrupt councils who think only of the expense sheet that they submit after spending copious hours drinking in one of the many public houses . For a drinking man you may well feel in paradise as this Town must have the largest number of licensed premises per square mile as anywhere in the UK . The feeling here is of depression and the numerous empty shops and huge amount of charity shops tells the true story, even Macdonalds pulled out of this god forsaken place . If you are in the North East of England do yourself a favour and avoid this place like plague , the only reason i visit is to see family .

Nooit gedacht dat deze plaats op de vakantiereiswijzer zou staan. Ik heb er ongeveer 2 jaar geleden zo'n 4 maanden gewoond. Stockton is nogal grauw en er is niet erg veel te beleven. Er is vlakbij wel een campus en er wonen dus ook wel veel studenten. De High Street is aardig, wat barren en café's een aantal restaurants en wat pubs. Winkels zijn er niet veel en wat er zit is weining bijzonders. Er zit aan de rand van de stad een nieuw complex, met winkels, supermarkten, een boiscoop, een casino en een discotheek. Je kunt veel beter de trein pakken naar bijvoorbeeld York, Newcastle of Durham. De mensen zijn over het algemeen wel heel vriendelijk.
