25-6-2009 Although we loved many things about the hotel (location, rooms, breakfast, etc.), we should have paid attention to other reviews that claimed it was noisy. The noise from the street was so loud it kept us awake until 4 in the morning. Our daughters were in a room facing the courtyard and they did not experience a noise problem. So I would only recommend this hotel if you request an inside room!

25-6-2009 We were very impressed with the Wellenberg. We only stayed overnight so location was important - just a few minutes walk from train station. We were a group of 3 people and stayed in suite. The room was very large compared to the hotel rooms we had in other European locations. Many nice amenities. Highly recommend.

25-6-2009 Highly recommended. Good location, right in the middle of Zurich, close to the river, and close to Central and Hauptbahnhof. The price is excellent, given the facility. Rooms were excellent- very clean. Overall a great hotel.

25-6-2009 I was incredibly impressed with the Wellenberg Hotel, especially after reading some mixed reviews. Information from the front desk was very helpful and accurate, and the breakfast was great.

The location is great and offers a lot of night life; this does create a little bit of noise outside, but nothing to worry about. It may be considered "loud" by Swiss standards, but as long as you do not need to have the windows open, you should not hear any of the noise. The room was comfortable, clean, spacious, and came with a complimentary plate of fruit, chocolate, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate--certainly a money saver.

I would not hesitate to stay here again on a return trip to Zurich. The hotel staff was friendly and helped to make my trip very enjoyable.

25-6-2009 Fabulous location in the old part of town. All the staff were fluent in English and very helpful. When I showed up on crutches (new injury) and asked about handicapped-accessible rooms (they had none), we were upgraded to a junior suite. All the rooms were much larger than usually found in city hotels. Very nice breakfast buffet although pricey for guests ($25/person). Price was reasonable.

25-6-2009 Thw Wellenberg is, in my opinion, one of the best boutique hotels in Europe. I had a six month stay there in 1999 and, since the refurbishment, it is even better. A lovely quiet atmosphere, no noise - but lust walk outside and you have the choice of tens of bars, restaurants and all the facilities of a modern city centre. Excellent Swiss breakfasts: meat, cheese, mango, kiwi fruit, melon and about twenty different Swiss breads on offer. Attentive staff who know their city. In a class of its own!
