This is a lovely hotel right in the middle of the old town of Taormina with its old streets surrounded by restaurants and shops.
The hotel itself is beautiful but fairly compact in its spaces which for us was its charm. There is a 'scenic' lift that takes you to the roof terrace which had a wonderful view over the rooftops of the town, down to the bay and across to Etna. Our room though was disappointingly small it seemed like the smallest in the hotel. The bed was very comfortable with lovely soft pillows, Breakfast was the usual Italian style with hot options. We did eat in the restaurant and the food was fine.
I have not given this hotel five stars because for us the small room did not live up to our standards of a five star hotel. If we had paid full price for our room we would not have been pleased. The hotel is in a perfect location and the staff were excellent.
